ITU Region 2 Member Countries

International Telecommunications Union Region 2 (ITU Region 2) covers the Americas, including North America, South America, Central America, and the Caribbean, as well as some Pacific Ocean territories. Here’s a list of countries and territories included in Region 2:

North America

Canada, United States, Mexico


Central America

Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama


Caribbean

Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago


South America

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela


Other Territories

Region 2 also includes additional territories outside of the Americas: Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands,French Guiana, Guadeloupe and Martinique, Greenland


Frequency Management in ITU Region 2

The ITU allocates frequency bands within Region 2 to minimize interference and harmonize usage across these nations. While some bands are globally harmonized, others may have region-specific uses depending on the needs of Region 2 countries.
