About This Silly Old Blog

Hello there!

Welcome to my newest creative endeavor. My goal with this blog is to present articles about both ham radio and things on the periphery of ham radio that should still appeal to the average amateur radio operator. My interests are broad and my curiosity drags me all over the place.

We are so lucky today to have access to so many amazing radios and gadgets, when even a $20 dual-bander from Amazon can duplex, offset, and open a repeater with a PL tone. That’s just amazing. And when you look at the incredible options available when you throw a few hundred into the HT bucket, it’s pretty jaw dropping. Just look at the incredible feature set that Kenwood has crammed in to the new TH-D75A. And let’s not forget that Icom recently issued a nice update to the ID-52 as well. This will likely make it hard for some buyers to decide.

I can talk about radios all day long. I guess that’s why this blog has been a long time coming. I “retired” from the technology sector a few years ago, and now I spend my days playing with gadgets and writing reviews. It’s become apparent recently that I need a more realistic creative outlet, so here we are. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Cheers and 73,

Eric – W6HS
